Welcome to
Discovery Point Seven Hills
At Discovery Point, we take pride in being at the forefront of child care. Our goal is to redefine daycare for our families and the children in our care. Our dedicated caregivers are not simply spending the day with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children; they are providing the formative educational experiences that will shape the way these young minds address the rest of their academic careers. Our early childhood teachers implement research-based curriculum and a child-centered instructional approach for every age and stage of development — it is not simply “daycare.”
Children have an innate sense of wonder and curiosity about the world. When encouraged, they can think creatively and gain the confidence they need to go out and change the world! At Discovery Point, we believe it’s never too soon to foster a thirst for knowledge and an appreciation for play through dynamic and engaging child care programs.
The Discovery Point Difference
Meet the Owners
Discovery Point Seven Hills
Tim Sabba and Cary O’Donnell are proud of their decision to own not one, but two Discovery Point Child Development Centers. They have owned Discovery Point Silverthorn since October 2016 and Discovery Point Seven Hills since February 2018.
Surrounded by large families comprised of relatives and friends Tim and Cary bring their big HEARTs and core values into their centers every day:
H.E.A.R.T. = Happiness, Excellence, Acceptance, Respect, & Teamwork!
About Tim Sabba
Since he found out he was adopted when he was 7 years old, Tim has always wanted to give something back to children in need of a family. “It’s not unusual that I had a successful career creating infant and preschool toys, it was a clear path to preschool ownership”, says Tim. “Our accredited preschools are a home-away-from-home for the children in our community and our teachers are the extended family members parents trust with the care of their children. The teams work hard every day ensuring a safe learning environment filled with engaging curriculum and exciting activities.”
With 20 years of experience as an energetic executive working with preschoolers and moms, Tim brings his experiences from several well-trusted companies; Fisher-Price, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Little Tikes to his centers. He has led marketing and product development teams on brands like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Dora the Explorer, Winnie the Pooh, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Frozen.
Tim holds an Associate Degree in Advertising Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Packaging Design) from FIT, a Staff Credential (CDA), and a Level II Director Credential with VPK Endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
In addition to customer service and accreditation management you will often find Tim in a classroom or on the playground, surrounded by children, building, teaching, creating, or just being silly.
About Cary O’Donnell
Cary is the eldest, and only son, in his family and has 4 younger sisters, so he learned to share, debate, and negotiate at an early age. As an experienced certified public accountant (CPA) with over 20 years of diversified experience Cary brings an array of knowledge from many industries including technology, healthcare, manufacturing and service. “As a child I always wanted to have my own business”, says Cary. “After years of hard work and perseverance I focused my energy and utilized my strong family values and made my dream come true.”
Cary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Pace University in NY and holds compliance certificates from the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) and USDA Food Program. “Keeping our staff and children safe, inside a healthy learning environment is my top priority”, Cary insists. “Many of the children in our care do not receive healthy meals at home and we work hard to serve the very best foods.
You will often find Cary in the office, focused on facility management and ensuring the financial stability of both centers. But don’t let his head down fool you, he has a keen eye and ear, and always knows what’s going on in the center. He keeps the staff and children safe and well cared for. “I come from a very close-knit family, who loves to spend time together, laughing, playing games, and doing many different activities. I am very close to my 7 nieces and nephews and have enjoyed helping them grow.”
